The Court of Appeals has overturned July’s High Court judgment which stated that people applying for citizenship could not leave the State for even for a day in the year leading up to their application.
This is good news in that the extreme restriction has now been lifted, but unfortunately the previous limit stands: you cannot be absent from the country for longer than 6 weeks in the year preceding your date of application.
