Non-EEA nationals who have received court documents stating that they are citizens of an EU country but still need to get EU passport must rely on their Irish granted immigration permission to remain legally resident in the State.
The non-EEA national should continue to renew and keep their current immigration status to be entitled to remain in the State. The Immigration Services will not give an immigration permission to a non-EEA national while waiting for their EU national passport to be issued.
The non-EEA national who received court documents confirming their EU status must contact their national embassy for immediate assistance in securing their EU passport.
