Employment Quotas Extended for Vehicle Maintenance Roles
As of 7 April 2025, under the Employment Permits (Amendment) (No. 3) Regulations 2025 (SI No. 119/2025), quotas for key vehicle maintenance roles have been increased:
- Car/Motor Mechanics, Auto Electricians, Motor Vehicle Technicians: 200 permits
- HGV/Bus Mechanics: 200 permits
- Vehicle Body Builders / Panel Beaters: 50 permits
These changes aim to further support the vehicle maintenance and repair sector.
